Finding stable housing is a powerful step for families who have experienced homelessness. While the family has a new home, they may still struggle to afford basic furnishings like a child’s bed. That’s where My Very Own Bed comes in!
My Very Own Bed exists today to meet the needs of children in our community. We provide new twin beds and Dream Kits to kids ages 2-17. Our bed set includes a platform frame and a new twin size bed. Our Dream Kits include all the bedding—sheets, blankets, pillows, mattress pads, a stuffed animal, and a book.
We identify families through our referral partners in the Twin Cities Metro area and the surrounding communities.
With each bed delivery, a child is getting a space to call their own.
“My Very Own Bed has been a game-changer for The Link! Through our partnership, we are able to request beds for our young families who are transiting into safe and stable housing. The children receive a brand-new bed with personalized bedding, book, etc., that was picked out just for them and delivered right to the family. Our families are sleeping safer and sounder because of MVOB!”
