OUR WORK
How We Help Children Sleep Better
We provide beds and Dream Kits to children ages 2–17 who don't have a bed of their own.
Through referrals from schools, shelters, healthcare providers, and community organizations, we serve families across the Twin Cities and surrounding communities.

Community Partners Identify a Need
My Very Own Bed works with schools, shelters, healthcare providers, and community organizations across the Twin Cities.
When they identify a family in need, they submit a referral to our team.

03
Delivery Day
Trained staff and volunteers deliver the bed directly to the family's home and set everything up for the child.
“They didn’t just set up the bed… they made the bed and left gifts… it was wonderful.”
— GUARDIAN OF TEENAGER

Better Sleep Begins
A child now has a bed of their own, along with the comfort items that help create a welcoming sleep space.
Families often tell us their children are sleeping better, feeling more secure, and showing positive changes at home and school.
In our most recent family survey:
-
89% reported improved sleep
-
71% noticed positive changes at home
-
45% saw improvements at school

"She is sleeping well, going to school, and playing with friends. Teachers have noticed a difference."
— PARENT
From Donation to Dream Come True
A bed delivery is about more than furniture.
Follow the journey of one small comfort item as it travels from donation to delivery and becomes part of a child's very own bed.
