Take steps so children can get restful sleep each night

Good sleep starts with staying active—and every kid deserves a safe, cozy bed to recharge. By joining Steps for Sleep, your movement turns into real impact. Walk with us at this family-friendly community event to help provide new beds and Dream Kits to local children moving into stable housing. Let's lace up and make a difference together!

The Heart of the Event: Walking Together

Join us as an individual, a family, a corporate team, or a group of friends to take steps toward brighter mornings and better nights for kids in the Twin Cities. We're walking around the beautiful Boom Island in Minneapolis, starting at DeLaSalle High School, but you can also Walk Anywhere!

More Than Just a Walk

Steps for Sleep is a celebration of comfort, dignity, and the power of community. When you join us, you’ll experience:

  • Interactive Wellness Fair: Connect with local businesses giving back.

  • Family-Friendly Activities: Fun experiences for all ages.

  • Community Connection: Meet neighbors who share your passion for making a difference.

New Afternoon Schedule

This year's updated timeframe offers the perfect late-afternoon window for participants. Moving the event to 3:00PM avoids the early morning rush, ensures cooler and more comfortable walking temperatures, and leaves plenty of time to enjoy the Wellness Fair while still wrapping up just in time for Saturday evening plans.

Can’t Join in Person?

You can still champion the cause! Choose our Walk Anywhere option to participate and fundraise from wherever you are.

Together, we can take meaningful steps toward better sleep and brighter futures for every child!

Steps for Sleep honors My Very Own Bed's Vision

We believe all children should have a bed so they can sleep well, dream, and find comfort in a place of their own. This event brings our community together – families who've received beds, volunteers, donors, health and wellness-related organizations, and anyone interested in learning more about how to improve their sleep, health, and well-being.
