At Your Location

Make blankets wherever works best for you - at home, school, work, or with a community group!

Gather your supplies, follow our easy instructions, and coordinate with our team to donate your finished blankets.

A Few Things to Know Before Volunteering

At My Very Own Bed, each bed is delivered with a Dream Kit filled with essentials that help make bedtime feel special - including a handmade fleece blanket.

By making tie blankets, you're helping create something personal and comforting for children receiving a bed of their own.

Time Commitment

Onsite sessions are scheduled for two hours, with dates and times varying. A group of 3–4 volunteers can typically complete one blanket in about 20–30 minutes.

Volunteers participating at their own location can work at their own pace.

What You'll Do

Work together to cut and tie fleece blankets that will be included in Dream Kits delivered to children in our community.

Volunteers can help with cutting, tying knots, or assembling the finished blankets.

Who Can Participate

Everyone is welcome! This is a great opportunity for individuals, families, student groups, community organizations, and workplace teams.

No sewing experience needed. Volunteers cutting fleece should be able to use scissors safely.

Material

We encourage onsite volunteers to bring their own fleece when possible. My Very Own Bed can provide enough fleece for up to five blankets per session for those who need it. Volunteers bringing their own fleece can make as many blankets as time allows.

Volunteers participating at their own location provide their own supplies.
