BED DELIVERY
This is a hands-on outreach opportunity for families with kids, individuals, clubs, teams, youth groups, or work groups to assemble Dream Kits and deliver beds to children in our community. Volunteers meet at our office for a short orientation, pack kits, and then follow our van to families’ homes.
Where: 34 13th Ave NE Minneapolis, MN 55413 (Parking available)
When: 9:00 a.m. – noon, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays
Group Size: 2-4
Ages: All ages including kids ages 5+
BED FRAME ASSEMBLY
This is a hands-on opportunity to assemble our platform bed frames that are provided with each bed delivery. Each frame is hand assembled from a kit. Frames are then stored in the warehouse area until deliveries on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

CLEANING & ORGANIZING
Help us maintain the cleanliness of the MVOB offices/warehouse. Cleaning duties include sweeping, mopping, surface cleaning, and tidying/organizing Dream Kit inventory shelves.

EVENT AMBASSADOR
Interested in representing My Very Own Bed and engaging with your community at the same time? We often need assistance at our fundraising events or staffing tables at other community events to help spread the word about our work. Volunteers who have served our organization in other ways provide a valuable perspective for others interested in learning about My Very Own Bed. Interested? BLANKET MAKING
DONATION DRIVE
Size: The blanket needs to comfortably cover a twin bed. We ask the fabric is cut to 2.5 yards.
Style: Each child lists preferred themes and colors when requesting a bed, for example “LOL Dolls”, “videogames”, “baby shark”. We love receiving blankets that can be matched to these types of themes, even if they don’t fit the theme exactly.
High priority need: Solid colored blankets. Blankets with neutral patterns. Cartoon character blankets.

Volunteers also help us collect needed supplies for our Dream Kits - the pillow, mattress pads, sheets, blankets, and stuffed animal that accompany each bed. You can host an in-person or virtual drive in your neighborhood, school, church, or work community. Get our Donation Drive Tool Kit.
